LA JOLLA, Calif. — Crews rescued a young woman and a man in his early 20s after they became stuck on a La Jolla cliff early Wednesday, authorities said.

The woman, who is in her late teens, used her cell phone to call 911 about 4:40 a.m. and said the pair had become stuck on a cliff near the Torrey Pines Gliderport on Torrey Pines Scenic Drive, according to San Diego fire- rescue spokesman Lee Swanson.

Using a repel system, both the man and the woman were lowered to the beach, where the man was loaded into an ambulance and taken to the hospital for a minor leg injury, Swanson said.
