Car hits pedestrian in Vista

VISTA, Calif. — A vehicle struck and seriously injured a pedestrian on a Vista street Tuesday.

The accident occurred shortly after 5:30 p.m. at South Santa Fe Avenue, near Pala Vista Drive, sheriff’s Lt. Christine Robbins said.

Medics took the victim to Palomar Medical Center, Robbins said.

The condition of the victim was not known, nor whether the driver was held, Robbins said.

Deputies blocked off lanes around the site of the crash to allow for investigation.
