Dingeman Elementary School

SAN DIEGO – Parents were warned Thursday about an attempted kidnapping near Dingeman Elementary School in Scripps Ranch.

The Scripps Ranch Civic Association released information about a student who was approached by two men in a gray pickup truck outside her home on Roxboro Road around 7:50 a.m. Wednesday morning.

The student refused to get in their truck, ran back into her house and called for help, according to a letter sent to the community.

The men were described as white men with brown hair in their early 30s.

San Diego police told Fox 5 Thursday afternoon they changed the case to “annoying a child” since the suspects did not leave their truck when they called out to the child.

Anyone with information about the incident should contact SDPD at 858-484-3154.
