VISTA, Calif. — Two victims were recuperating from numerous stab wounds in a hospital Saturday, and two alleged gang members were arrested following a Halloween night fight in Vista.

The incident occurred at 10:37 p.m. when Vista Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a stabbing at 155 E. East Drive near North Santa Fe Avenue, San Diego Sheriff’s Sgt. Debbie Eglin said.

“Two victims were located at the scene with multiple stab wounds,” said Eglin. “Both were transported to Palomar Hospital with serious, but non-life threatening injuries.”

Eglin said Luis Enrique Garcia, 20, a documented “Vista Home Boy” gang member, was arrested on two counts of suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon with a gang allegation. Stephanie Lopez, 20, was also arrested on suspicion of being an accessory to a felony after the fact.

“Both were booked into the Vista Detention Facility,” Eglin said.

The stabbing victims were identified only as men in their 20s.

The continuing investigation was being handled by gang detectives.
