SOLANA BEACH, Calif. -- San Diego County Sheriff's deputies held a meeting Thursday to announce that a three-month investigation of an all-night spa in Solana Beach turned up no evidence of prostitution or other illegal activities.

Neighbors have voiced concern about strange men entering the business on the 300 block of Cedros Avenue at all hours of the night.

Sheriff's investigators said they thoroughly investigated the claims but found no evidence any crimes.

Residents complained that the deputy in charge of the investigation never directly contacted the owner of the business.

“If you never spoke to her, if you never went inside, how can you know anything?” a resident asked.

“If they don’t call me back, there is nothing I can do," Deputy Nguyen said. "I’m not going to violate someone’s civil rights."

The sheriff's department said the case is closed.
