SAN DIEGO — The San Diego County Sheriff’s Department Monday asked for the public’s help in finding a missing 73-year-old woman who is in the early stages of dementia and in need of high blood pressure medication.

Loretta Frederick was last seen by her family about 11 a.m. Saturday as she left a friend’s residence at 44th and K streets in the Mount Hope area of San Diego, according to a sheriff’s department statement.

She told family members that she was going to take a bus to go shopping and to a casino, authorities said, adding that when she failed to return the next day, her daughter reported her missing.

Frederick is white, with black hair and brown eyes. She stands 5 feet 2 and weighs about 150 pounds. Authorities said she was last seen wearing a black jacket, purple shirt and blue jeans.

Anyone who believes they’ve seen Frederick was asked to call the sheriff’s department’s non-emergency dispatch line at 858-565-5200.
