CHULA VISTA, Calif. – Chula Vista Police Officers arrested a 24-year-old man near an elementary school Thursday for indecent exposure and resisting arrest.

Police said witnesses called 9-1-1 around 8:45 a.m. about a man exposing himself in front of McMillian Elementary School on Santa Cora Avenue.

Officers arrived within minutes and spoke to several witnesses about the suspect.  They found Justine Sison in a nearby restaurant’s bathroom, matching the suspect’s description.

Sison tried to resist arrest and struck one of the officers as he was being handcuffed, police said.

Neither Sison nor the officer was hurt.

Sison has been booked for felony resisting with violence, possession of marijuana and indecent exposure, said police.

There are no indications that any students witnessed the incident or were victims, said police.

The School Principle sent out a letter via email, reminding parents and students of safety rules if they are ever in an unsafe situation:

  1. Children should always check first with a parent of trusted adult before going anywhere, accepting anything, or getting into a vehicle with anyone.  This applies to older children as well.
  2. Children should take a friend with them when they go places or play outside, as much as possible.
  3. Children need to know they have the right to be safe.  If they are ever in need of help, children should keep asking for help until they get the assistance they need.
