Suspicious bag prompts Palomar Airport evacuation

CARLSBAD, Calif. – McClellan-Palomar Airport in Carlsbad was temporarily evacuated Monday evening after a suspicious bag was spotted, authorities said.

Authorities were alerted after a green backpack was found sitting outside the main terminal doors around 7 p.m.  When the owner of the bag was not located, San Diego County Sheriff’s Department bomb squad was responded.

Carlsbad police evacuated the terminal as a precaution.

A woman returned to the airport and said the bag was hers.  Authorities deemed the bag save at 8 p.m. and airport operations resumed.

No flights were canceled as a result of the investigation.

    We were there the person dropped the bag as security asked them to stop they ran. Flight was delayed had to walk with bags cause airport even after opened was still blocked and the person was not charged just yelled at we were told??? How come not charged???? So beyond wrong!!!
