Student raped on CSUSM campus, police say
SAN MARCOS, Calif – Police at Cal State San Marcos said Thursday they are investigating the reported rape of a student at a campus residence hall.
The sexual assault occurred between Thursday night, September 18, 2014 and Friday morning, September 19, 2014, according to a news release from CSUSM officials.
University police were informed of the attack on Wednesday, and said the assault occurred at the QUAD residence hall, located at 200 Barham Drive, according to the release.
Investigators said the male suspect had been invited to a party at the residence hall where he met the victim.
Police described the suspect as African-American, 21 years of age, 5’8” tall, weighing 160 pounds with short black hair and brown eyes. He wore square diamond earrings in each ear. Police said the suspect was not a student at Cal State San Marcos and is not in custody at this time.
