Street Race Crash in Chollas Creek

SAN DIEGO — Two people were injured overnight when a driver lost control during a street race on University Avenue.

Two cars were racing in the Chollas Creek area at about 11:30 p.m. Monday when one of the cars smashed into a parked car, police said.

Flying glass from the crash hit a pedestrian nearby causing minor injuries, authorities said.

The driver suffered a head injury and was taken by ambulance to a trauma center.
