CARLSBAD, Calif. — Carlsbad residents can now file some types of police reports online.

Crimes that can be reported via the city website include vandalism, petty theft, hit-and-run crashes, harassing phone calls and lost property, police said.

“Using the online crime reporting resource is a quick alternative for community members wanting to file certain simple crime reports like the ones listed above,” said Delphine Fisk, the police department’s records supervisor. “They can access the online reporting site 24 hours a day from anywhere with website access.”

Crimes with a known suspect or those that require the collection of evidence cannot be reported online.

People who want an officer to take a non-emergency crime report can call 760-931-2197.
