SAN DIEGO – Former San Diego Mayor Jerry Sanders was added to the list of ALS Ice Bucket Challenge participants Tuesday, but rather than “waste” water he used beer.

City Council President Todd Gloria nominated Sanders to take the challenge that’s gone viral and helped raise over $22 million for ALS.

Sanders modified the challenge based on California’s current drought situation and decided to dump a bucket of Stone Brewery beer over his head.
