Robbers steal cell phone at gunpoint near SDSU

SAN DIEGO — A gunman and three accomplices robbed a person near the San Diego State campus in the College Heights neighborhood early Sunday, university police said.

robberyTwo men and two women approached the victim around 4:15 a.m. in the 6100 block of Mary Lane Drive and demanded the victim’s property, an SDSU police officer said. One of the men flashed a black handgun and the victim gave the robbers a cell phone.

The victim was uninjured and the suspects fled west on Mary Lane Drive towards Rockford Drive, the officer said. The victim was not an SDSU student.

The suspect who brandished the handgun was described as a black male, about 5 feet 8 and 140 pounds, wearing a dark shirt and baggy pants. The other man was also black but no other description was given.

One of the women suspects was described as black, about 5 feet 7 and 130 pounds, with braided hair and wearing a white t-shirt with blue jeans. The other woman was described as black, about 5 feet 3 and 150 pounds, wearing a dark shirt and shorts.
