Deputies name Jamaican men wanted in apartment murder

EL CAJON, Calif. — Officials Saturday identified two Jamaican men as suspects who may be armed and dangerous who are wanted in connection with a June 25 murder in an unincorporated area near El Cajon.

latima_doverLatima Dover, 49, and another Jamaican man in his 50s known as “Slung” are wanted for questioning in the shooting death of Kevin McCalla, who died at the Pepper Creek apartment complex at 1475 Graves Ave. about 8:45 p.m. on the night of June 25, a sheriff’s deputy said.

Dover, a Jamaican citizen who also goes by the name “Latty,” is black, 6 feet 1 and 150 pounds with short hair and a distinct Jamaican accent, the deputy said.

The other man, known as “Slung,” is about 50 years old with black dreadlock hair and a distinct Jamaican accent, the deputy said.

The men may be in possession of a firearm and should not be approached, the deputy said. Anybody with information about the murder or the location of the men should contact the sheriff’s department homicide detail at (858) 974- 2321 or (858) 565-5200.
