Skateboarder hospitalized after collision with truck

SAN DIEGO — A 17-year-old boy riding his skateboard Wednesday ran a stop sign and was struck by a full size pickup truck and seriously injured, police said.

skateboarderThe teenager was going south on 65th Street and the truck driven by a 58-year-old man was going west on Skyline Drive, San Diego Police Department Officer David Stafford said.

The boy sustained serious injuries to his spleen, kidney, should and tail bone.

Alcohol was not involved in the accident, Stafford said.
