American Airlines flight from San Diego makes emergency landing in Phoenix.

SAN DIEGO – A flight from San Diego to Dallas-Fort Worth made an emergency landing Wednesday due to a security issue, authorities said.

The American Airlines plane landed at Sky Harbor International Airport in Phoenix Wednesday afternoon due to an unruly passenger, according to KTVK-3TV’s Twitter post.

The unidentified passenger was removed by police and the flight was allowed to take off again, the Phoenix TV station reported.

The emergency landing happened within hours of the TSA’s announcement of enhanced security measures blamed on a new type of bomb threat from the Middle East.
