HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. – An Amber Alert was canceled Wednesday after a missing 6-month-old girl from Orange County was found safe, authorities said.

The baby, Laylani Mosely, was found with her 57-year-old grandmother Carolyn Ferguson in Tonopah, Arizona at 6:30 p.m., Maricopa County Sheriff’s deputies confirmed.

A gas station clerk noticed a suspicious woman in store and contacted deputies, authorities said.  The woman ended up being the suspect in an Amber Alert and was taken into custody.

Ferguson has a “history of mental illness and is in need of medication,” police said in a news release.

An alert was sent to cellphones in Southern California about 5:45 p.m.

Anyone with information was asked to call the Huntington Beach Police Department at 714-960-8825.
