SAN DIEGO — A gang-related shooting early Monday near Grant Hill Park left a 23-year-old man hospitalized with a gunshot wound to his leg, a police officer said.
The victim was with a group of men in the front yard of a residence at 2759 K St. shortly before 12:45 a.m. when they were approached by another group, whose members began throwing rocks, San Diego police Officer Dino Delimitros said.
During the altercation the suspect issued a gang challenge, pulled a gun and opened fire, striking the victim in his leg, according to the officer.
The suspects then sped off in a dark four-door sedan, Delimitros said.
The wounded man was taken to a hospital to be treated for the non-life- threatening injury, Delimitros said.
