San Diego Homicide Investigation

PACIFIC BEACH, Calif. — An intruder touched a sleeping woman in her Pacific Beach home early Friday but ran off when the terrified victim awoke and screamed, police said.

The woman was sleeping in her bedroom near Felspar and Bayard streets when she awoke to find a stranger touching her at about 2:15 a.m., according to investigators.

According to police the intruder entered the home from an unlocked door. While the temperatures are heating up and folks are keeping windows and doors open, police say it is important to lock up at night to keep intruders from breaking in.

The woman told police that the man was in his 20s, about 5 feet 10 inches tall with a muscular build and short dark hair. He was wearing a white baseball cap, a short sleeve shirt and dark colored gym shorts.

Anybody with information on the suspect should call Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477 or the San Diego Police Department Sex Crimes Unit at 619-531-2210
