AleSmith’s San Diego Pale Ale 394

AleSmith Brewing Company said Wednesday that it worked directly with Gwynn to develop the recipe for its new San Diego Pale Ale 394. The name “394” refers to Gwynn’s highest single-season batting average of .394 which he had in 1994, the company said.

AleSmith said it would release the new beer at the Padres Beerfest on June 6.

The company described the beer as pale ale with light bitterness and a piney, citrusy hop aroma with 6 percent alcohol. “A balanced malt profile will round out the hoppy flavors with a biscuity finish to enhance drinkability throughout the innings,” the company said.
