Teen sexually assaulted on MTS bus

NATIONAL CITY, Calif. – Police are searching for a man who sexually assaulted a 17-year-old girl while riding a public bus in National City.

A man sitting near the teenager started to assault her and when she told him to stop and attempted to move away from him, the suspect blocked her in the seat, according to Crime Stoppers. He continued assaulting her and told her he was 24-years-old.

The suspect boarded the MTS bus at the 24th Street trolley stop near National City Boulevard around 7:45 a.m. Wednesday and exited at 40th Street and Highland Avenue, according to the authorities.

He was described as a black man in his early to mid 20s, 5-feet, 6-inches to 5-feet, 10-inches tall, weighing between 160-200 pounds with black hair braided in rows. He wore a gray hooded sweatshirt with the words “SAN DIEGO,” dark baggie jeans with a hole in the left leg and black shoes.

The victim told authorities the suspect had dirty nails and spoke slowly.

A $1,000 reward is being offered to anyone with information that lead to an arrest I the case.
