SAN DIEGO — Authorities Monday released surveillance images in hopes of apprehending a man who gunned down the owner of an Oak Park barbershop at the victim’s workplace 10 days ago.

The assailant opened fire on 32-year-old Lamar Canady at his barbershop in the 5400 block of Redwood Street about 11:30 a.m. May 9, then ran out and escaped into the surrounding neighborhood, according to San Diego police. Canady, a father of four, died at the scene.

The shooter was described as a thin black man who appeared to be in his mid-20s. He was wearing dark-colored clothing, including a T-shirt with a large logo reading “A Eagle” on the front, and had on a gray baseball cap and white tennis shoes. Surveillance cameras captured images of him.

Anyone with information about the case was asked to call San Diego County Crime Stoppers at (888) 580-8477 or contact the agency online at sdcrimestoppers.com. Tipsters may remain anonymous and could be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
