Church catches fire in Escondido

ESCONDIDO, Calif. – Some firefighters had to break away from battling wildfires in Escondido to respond to a church fire Thursday night, authorities said.

A fire broke out at Calvary Assembly Church on the 900 block of Ohio Avenue around 7 p.m., according to Escondido police dispatcher.

The cause of the fire was unknown.

The fire was not related to the wildfires.
