Teens wounded while sitting in car

SAN DIEGO – San Diego police and gang units were investigating a shooting in the Emerald Hills area Monday night after two teens were taken to a local hospitals.

sdpdInvestigators said four people were in the car that was hit with gunfire around 7:45 p.m Monday night in the 1000 block of Pyramid Street, , according to San Diego police Officer Dino Delimitros.

A 15-year-old victim was taken to Rady Children’s Hospital with a gunshot to the shoulder.  The other victim, and 18-year-old man who was wounded in the leg, drove himself to Mercy Hospital.

Both victims should recover quickly, according to police.

Police said the gunman  was a 16- or 17-year-0ld boy who walked up to the car and fired seven rounds into the vehicle. Gang detectives are investigating the shooting.
