SAN DIEGO– Escondido police released disturbing video Wednesday afternoon to prevent more women from being victimized by predators who use cell phone cameras to take pictures and videos up their skirts and then post them online.
“It is disgusting. I don’t understand why anyone would want to do that,” 18-year-old Natasha Bell said.
Daniel Valencia, 26, plead guilty last month to taking illegal photos and will now have to register as a sex offender. Escondido police say he was an up-skirt expert. They believe he taped at least 10 women around North County in the last two years.
The video police released shows Valencia hiding his camera in his cap and approaching a woman.
“He acts like he’s looking for a book or looking for a pair of jeans. He gets as close to the woman as he can and gets down low and slides the camera directly underneath them,” Escondido Police Lt. Neal Griffin explained.
Valencia was caught in the act by a victim leading to his arrest.
