JACUMBA HOT SPRINGS, Calif. – A vehicle hit and killed a person in a wheelchair crossing the road in rural East County Sunday, authorities said.
The wheelchair-bound person was trying to cross Old Highway 80 in Jacumba Hot Springs in eastern San Diego County was struck by a vehicle, California Highway Patrol officials said.
The crash happened about 6:35 p.m. in the 44600 block of Old Highway 80, according to the CHP.
