VISTA, Calif. — Investigators released a composite sketch of a Vista home invasion suspect Wednesday in the hope someone would recognize him.

Around 2 a.m. Sunday, the man approached a woman from behind as she opened her apartment door near the 1400 block of Bonair Road and held what she believed to be a gun to her head, forcing her inside, according to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department. Once inside, the man tried to blindfold her but eventually fled as she fought back, deputies said.

The attacker was described as a thin Hispanic in his 20s, about 6 feet tall and 130-140 pounds, with short, combed back black hair, brown eyes and a medium brown complexion.

Anyone with more information was asked to call the Vista sheriff’s station at 760-940-4551 or San Diego County Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477. Information that leads to an arrest could be worth a Crime Stoppers reward of up to $1,000.
