Fire Danger HighSAN DIEGO — A fire weather watch was scheduled to go in effect late Thursday for the inland valleys and mountains of San Diego County.

The National Weather Service scheduled the watch from late tonight to Friday evening, saying very low humidity of 7 to 15 percent and northeast to east wind gusts up to 45 miles per hour were in store.

A fire weather watch means that critical fire weather conditions are forecast to occur. It is often a precursor to a red flag warning — the agency’s most serious fire-related warning.
