Ambulance at nightLAKESIDE, Calif. — A traffic accident involving a big rig injured one person and prompted part of northbound state Route 67 to be closed for about an hour early Tuesday, authorities said.

The crash at Slaughterhouse Canyon Road was reported at 5:33 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol, which diverted traffic onto San Vicente Road until around 6:45 a.m.

Paramedics took one person to Sharp Memorial Hospital, a Heartland dispatcher said. The extent of the injury and the identity of the injured person were not immediately released.

Earlier reports that a marked San Diego police vehicle was involved were incorrect, according to SDPD Det. Gary Hassen, who said a San Diego police officer pulled up on the scene shortly after the crash and reported it.

Prior to 5:30am there was a CHP vehicle blocking the right lane because a SUV (white tahoe) was involved in a solo accident. After that not sure what happened. As i now read that a Big Rig was involved in an accident.
