EL CAJON, Calif. — Police were on the lookout for a utility truck with a bucket lift involved in a fatal hit-and-run collision with a pedestrian.

The fatal accident was reported at about 10 p.m. near the intersection of Main Street and Jamacha Boulevard in El Cajon, police said. Witnesses said the pedestrian was hit by a northbound truck while crossing in the middle of the block.  A second vehicle hit the person a short time later. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The driver of the second vehicle stopped and cooperated with investigators.

The truck that first hit the pedestrian was a late model white Ford F-350 or F-550 utility work truck, according to witnesses.  It had a logo on the front door and had a bucket lift and a utility bed, police said. The truck is believed to have a damaged right headlight because of the collision.

Anyone with information about the collision or the truck that left the scene was encouraged to contact the El Cajon Police Department Traffic Division at 619-441-1632.

It's only a matter of time before they find this 'utility truck'.
The person killed was crossing in the middle of the block, so the driver probably wasn't at fault. However, he left the scene of the crime whether he was drunk or not. The bail bond on this guy is going to be $100,000 and he shouldn't have left the scene of the accident.
