SAN DIEGO — Charger fans lined up Tuesday to buy T-shirts hot off the press. The new shirts with quarterback Philip Rivers read “Rivers Rising — Believe” and are being produced by Greathouse Screen Printing in Kearny Mesa.
“With the ‘BELIEVE’ – that’s the spirit of San Diego right now. Seeing the response from the fans has been incredible,” said Nick Parks, who runs the company.
Parks said more than a thousand shirts were sold on the first day — at $20 each.
He didn’t know he’d be screen printing the shirts until late in the Chargers playoff game in Cincinnati.
“It wasn’t until two minutes left in the game. After Ronnie Brown’s touchdown it was on. We had the design made up and ready to go,” said Parks.
The shirts are selling just about as fast as they can be printed. It says something about how confident fans are the Bolts can get another upset win in Denver on Sunday.
“We’re going to go all the way. We’re going to get Manning – we got his number. We’re going to do it,” said Charger diehard Aaron Zuniga.
Parks said his daughters helped him with the shirt design and a new design is ready — if the Chargers beat the Broncos.
