2 women escape house fire in University Heights

university heights fireSAN DIEGO–  Two women were left homeless after flames swept through their University Heights home, authorities said.

The fire in the 2000 block of Monroe Avenue was reported at 10:58 p.m. Monday, according to a San Diego fire-rescue dispatcher.

Crews arrived at 11:05 p.m. and had the blazed knocked down about five minutes later,he said. Nobody was injured.

The cause was under investigation.
