Alpine, CA-Good news for country music fans in east San Diego-there’s another country music station in town and it’s making its mark. Mountain Country 107.9 FM is here, and it’s here to stay my friends. The station is different, let me start by saying that. If you love-and I mean truly appreciate country music THIS station will pull you in and I hope it does. For now, it’s only available on the radio to residents in Alpine and some of the surrounding areas. You can, however, easily listen to it live online from the station’s website.
This station is authentic. It’s a small outfit, but the passion and love behind this radio station is bigger than life. The people involved with the station are all heart. In a nutshell, if you’re tired of listening to tons of commercials and Taylor Swift’s “Red” every two seconds on the radio, you will absolutely cherish what this radio station offers. Station director, Chris Torrick, does a nice job of incorporating new country and old country. So, it’s not uncommon to hear Blake Shelton’s latest hit followed by a classic Keith Whitley or Aaron Tippin tune. The variety will truly make you remember all the reasons you fell in love with country music.
So, join the journey and join ME as I make my debut as a country music radio dj on mountain country 107.9 Tuesday, November 26th at 3pm. Yup, I’m going to be hosting a Top 20 Countdown show. I’ll be honest, I’ve never run a radio board before folks. Heck, I’m used to a video camera and scrambing around town chasing scandals or breaking news. This is a new challenge, and it’s exciting to learn a new skill and do what I love most–chat about and listen to country music. So, please listen on the radio or go online and stream live. WE are all one big country music lovin’ family, let’s keep it tight ya’ll!
So, I hope you give this radio station a listen and let me know what you think!
