SAN DIEGO – Filipino Americans living in San Diego continue to express their concern for friends and family affected by the typhoon that slammed the Philippines this week.

Gawad Kalinga USA is an organization based out of Poway that provides small homes for those living in the Philippines. Since the deadly typhoon hit the country, its volunteers have switched their focus to collecting donations to supply meals to the victims.

“I can’t help but cry,” said volunteer Joy Fulgueras.

They continue to see an outpouring of support, and they know the victims of the typhoon will need it.
