Police searching for bank robbery suspect

bankRobberySAN DIEGO — A man who robbed a bank at Horton Plaza in downtown San Diego was sought by police today.

San Diego Police officer Frank Cali said the incident was at 9:27 a.m. at the Citibank branch at 755 Broadway Circle.

The man “entered the bank and handed the teller a demand note,” said Cali. “He was given an undisclosed amount of money and fled northbound on Broadway Circle.”

Cali said no weapon was seen on the suspect.

The suspect was described as about 60 years old, black, with white hair and about 6 feet tall or slightly higher. He was wearing black sunglasses, a black T-shirt and jeans.

No one was hurt and the suspect remained at large. The police robbery unit was investigating.
