Cyclist finds body in Mission Valley

body-crimeSAN DIEGO — A bicyclist came across a body Tuesday alongside the San Diego River in Mission Valley.

The rider found the unidentified dead person in about three feet of water in an open area off of Pacific Highway shortly after 11 a.m., according to San Diego police.

There were no indications of anything suspicious about the death, SDPD public-affairs Officer Jim Johnson said. The county Medical Examiner’s Office was called in to take custody of the body for autopsy and identification purposes.
