CHULA VISTA, Calif. — A man lying on a Chula Vista roadway was struck by a pickup truck early Sunday and suffered serious injuries, a police official said.
The driver of the truck was headed east on L Street between First and Second Avenues at about 4:40 a.m. when he struck the man who was lying in the street for unknown reasons, according to Chula Vista police Lt. Buddy Magor.
The injured man was taken to a hospital to be treated for serious but not life-threatening injuries, Magor said.
The Chula Vista Police Department’s Traffic Unit was investigating, Magor said.
