SAN DIEGO — A woman was in custody Monday on suspicion of stabbing her husband in the stomach with a large kitchen knife during a fight in Torrey Highlands, inflicting a life-threatening injury, police said.
The couple got into an argument in the 7400 block of Collins Ranch Court shortly before 7 p.m. Sunday, according to San Diego police Officer David Stafford. The wife told investigators that her husband taunted her to stab him and she did, he said in a statement.
Paramedics took him to a local trauma center for treatment of a life- threatening wound, Stafford said. His condition was not reported early this morning.
Officers at the scene arrested the wife on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon. Her name was not immediately released.
