SAN DIEGO — Authorities asked the public Monday for help in identifying three men and a woman who assaulted an acquaintance at a Spring Valley home, then abducted him and stole his car.
The 24-year-old victim was talking with the foursome on the evening of June 16 when an argument erupted and turned violent, according to sheriff’s officials.
The assailants beat up the man, then bound him with duct tape and put him in the trunk of his black 1992 Toyota Camry. After being driven around for a while, he managed to free himself, get out of the car and escape.
The bruised and battered victim eventually made his way to a San Ysidro gas station, where he got a clerk to call 911.
The stolen car has not been recovered, authorities said.
The victim described one of the kidnappers as a thin, freckled, roughly 6-foot-3-inch young man, possibly named Jordan but who went by the nickname “Red,” apparently due to the color of his hair.
One of the other assailants was known as Giovanni or “Gio,” about 5 feet 6 inches tall and in his mid-20s. The third man was stocky, stood about 5 feet 8 inches tall, had black hair and a lazy eye, and answered to the name Ricky or Ritchie.
The fourth abductor was described as a thin, roughly 5-foot-7-inch woman with long brown hair and brown eyes. Her cohorts addressed her as Vanessa.
Anyone with information about the case was asked to call San Diego County Crime Stoppers at (888) 580-8477 or contact the agency online at sdcrimestoppers.com. Tipsters may remain anonymous and could be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
