Car hits 3-year-old girl in Logan Heights

kids-toysSAN DIEGO — A 3-year-old girl was struck by a car as she wandered into a Logan Heights roadway and was rushed to a hospital with life-threatening injuries, a police officer said Sunday.

The girl darted into the eastbound lanes of National Avenue near 33rd Street about 9:10 p.m. Saturday and was hit by a Nissan vehicle driven by a 48-year-old man, San Diego police Officer David Stafford said.

She sustained serious injuries and her parents drove her to a hospital, Stafford said.

The crash was under investigation, Stafford said.
