Man stabbed in back during fight over bicycle

knife-webSAN DIEGO – A man was hospitalized Friday after being stabbed in his lower back by one of three men who attacked him in Palm City, police said.

The stabbing in the 2200 Palm Avenue was reported at 11:15 p.m. Thursday, according to San Diego police Officer David Stafford. The assailants attempted to steal the man’s bicycle, prompting a scuffle that led to the stabbing, he said in a statement.

The victim was expected to survive, Stafford said. No one was in custody this morning.
