Gas-pumpSAN DIEGO — The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in San Diego County rose today for the 21st time in 23 days, increasing three-tenths of a cent to $4.033.

The average price has risen 19.2 cents over the past 23 days, including eight-tenths of a cent on Tuesday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The average price is 9.6 cents more than one week ago and 15.2 cents higher than one month ago but 9.7 cents less than one year ago.

The rising pump prices follow a spike in wholesale gasoline prices caused by outages affecting production at three Northern California refineries and one in Southern California, according to Jeffrey Spring of the Automobile Club of Southern California.
