Deer Springs wildfire slows I-15 traffic

SAN DIEGO – A slow moving brush fire in North County slowed traffic on Interstate 15 Monday evening, authorities said.

After two hours of burning dry brush near Deer Springs, the fire had grown to six acres as of 6 p.m., Cal Fire spokesman said.

Multiple I-15 lanes and an off-ramp were closed.

No structures were threatened and no injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire was unknown.
