Suspected illegal immigrants caught coming ashore at Sunset Cliffs

SUNSET CLIFFS, Calif. — Fifteen people suspected of trying to sneak across the border into San Diego in a panga boat were taken into custody early Sunday by Border Patrol agents waiting for them onshore.

Undercover agents spotted the boat off Sunset Cliffs near Ladera Street about 2:30 a.m.

When the panga boat washed ashore, agents took 10 men and five women into custody. No one in the group resisted.

They were taken to the Border Patrol station to be processed.
