Sheriff’s asking for public’s help in finding Subway robber

robberySPRING VALLEY, Calif. — Sheriff’s investigators and Crime Stoppers Wednesday asked for the public’s help in finding a gunman who who robbed a 24-hour Subway sandwich shop in Spring Valley.

The robber was wearing a mask during the holdup at 689 Sweetwater Road about 12:40 a.m. Thursday, sheriff’s detectives said. He ordered an employee to open the cash register and grabbed money, authorities said.

As he was fleeing, the robber took off his mask, and his face was recorded on video, detectives said.

The suspect was described as black and about 190 pounds, wearing a red polo shirt and khaki pants.
