SUV hits boy chasing ball

Rady Children’s HospitalSAN DIEGO — A 4-year-old boy was hospitalized Friday with a broken leg after he chased a ball into the street and was hit by a SUV in Normal Heights, police said.

The boy was struck in the 4600 block of 33rd Street around 7:10 p.m. Thursday, according to San Diego police Officer David Stafford.

Paramedics took him to Rady Children’s Hospital.
