CHULA VISTA, Calif. — A gunman and two male accomplices armed with club- type weapons robbed a man of his pickup truck and other personal property in Chula Vista early Wednesday, police said.
The victim is an employee of San Diego Urban Timber at 922 Industrial Blvd. and was inside the closed furniture-making business when the suspects entered through an open door shortly after midnight, according to Chula Vista police.
During the robbery, the gunman fired his weapon but no one was struck, police said in a statement.
The robbers took the victim’s white 2003 Toyota Tacoma, California license plate 7F37251, police said. The truck’s bed is equipped with a black utility rack.
Police described the gunman as Hispanic, 17 to 19 years old, 5 feet 9 and 180 pounds. He possibly had a mustache and facial piercing and wore a black hoodie, black beanie type cap and dark pants.
His accomplices were both described as black and 18 to 19 years old. One stood around 6 feet tall, weighed about 190 pounds, had a scruffy beard and scruffy hair, and wore a black or gray tank top and shorts, police said.
The second accomplice was shorter and thinner — roughly 5 feet 8 and 145 pounds — and wore a plaid shirt, blue jacket, jeans and plaid shoes, police said.
