Red-light runner crashes into 2 cars

SAN DIEGO – San Diego police Wednesday investigated a three-car crash in Chollas Creek that sent two of the drivers to the hospital with head trauma.

chollas creek crashThe collision in the area of 54th Street and University Avenue was reported at 11:08 p.m. Tuesday, according to San Diego police Officer Dino Delimitros.

A man driving a Volkswagen sedan sped through a red light and hit a woman driving a Nissan Sentra, Delimitros said in a statement.

“The Volkswagen bounced off the Nissan and hit a Honda sedan,” he said.

The driver of the Honda was uninjured but paramedics took the drivers of the Volkswagen and Nissan to the hospital with head trauma, Delimitros said, adding that the injuries were not life-threatening.
