Woman killed crossing street is identified

fatal-crash-grpSAN DIEGO — Authorities today released the name of a 66-year-old Tierrasanta woman who was struck and killed by a car this week.

Erlinda Lipa Ortin was fatally struck in the 10900 block of Clairemont Mesa Boulevard around 7:40 a.m. Monday, according to the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office. Death was pronounced at the scene.

Ortin was struck by a Toyota Camry while she was attempting to cross the street outside of a crosswalk, the Medical Examiner’s Office reported.

The driver remained at the scene for authorities.
