Couple attacked on Golden Hill street

SAN DIEGO – Authorities were searching for a man accused of severely beating a couple on a street in Golden Hill Friday afternoon.

A man in his 50s was walking northbound on 25th Street with a child when a driver turning left onto C Street nearly hit the child, San Diego police officer Frank Cali said.

sdpdWhen the 21-year-old driver parked on the 2400 block of C Street, the man walking with the child approached him and started attacking him, Cali said. The driver’s boyfriend came out of an apartment complex hold a bike chain and lock.

“He swung the chain at the suspect but missed,” Cali said. “The suspect grabbed the chain and started beating both men in the head and face.”

Both victims were transported to a local hospital and the conditions were unknown.

Police did not release a description of the suspect who left the scene.
